The United States of America was the 4th country we ever visited. Being our home country it was fun sharing with Martin aspects of America that he didn’t know about. We talked about Native Americans with our talking stick craft, as well as diversity and the melting pot that is our country. We also fired up the grill and had burgers, fries, watermelon, and s’mores for dessert!
As we have been revisiting some countries this summer it seemed fitting to make an American summer favorite- ICE CREAM!!
3 Ingredient Ice Cream
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 can (14 oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
In a bowl combine the vanilla and sweetened condensed milk.
Next in a chilled bowl, use an electric whisk to whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks- be careful not to over whip it or you will have butter 😬
Now fold the whipped heavy cream into the vanilla condensed milk mixture. I am partial to Mary Berry’s folding technique of “round the outside and cut through the middle”.
Finally transfer your ice cream to a freezer safe Tupperware, put the lid on and stick it in the freezer for 4 hours or overnight.
I have an ice cream churner but I’ll be honest this was so easy and so tasty I don’t know if I’ll go back…. For different flavors simply add to the vanilla or replace it. You can even add in other mix-in’s while folding in the whipped cream- Oreos anyone?!
